Diana Dapa was born in Croatia and raised in Queens, New York. After seventeen years as a court reporter, Diana and her family moved to Long Island, where she began her new career as a full-time mom. Watching her children grow in a rural environment, she began journaling her thoughts and observations about human nature and the natural world.

Her two children were her inspiration in creating the character of Elliot Nest. "The years of cross-examination in the courts and similar inquisition by my children led to the creation of Elliot Nest. My children have helped me to never lose sight of the childlike wonder within and how to share that wonder with one another." Diana now works with horses and humans developing an experiential learning program. Diana is also a Reiki healer and an aromatherapy practitioner. She enjoys riding horses with her children and taking long walks in the woods.

TESTIMONIALS
"Elliot Nest is the most appealing children’s book I’ve ever read: appealing in its likeability, as well as, its range. While the story line is simple enough for young children to follow, Elliot–the character—has a depth that will touch adults. As the author paints tranquil pictures with her words, she urges the reader to observe his every day surroundings—to be in and note the present; valuable lessons for readers of any age."
